.375 Cheytac+Reloader 33

It would be nice if someone would place this powder 33, and RL 50 on a burn rate chart. Alliant's website lists RL 25 as their slowest burning powder, wonder when that was printed???

RL 33 is quite a bit slower than Retumbo & gives plenty more speed

RL 50 is just faster than 50 BMG & gives a bit more speed.

Shows a lot of potential, I think this is a powder with a lot of potential over a lot of overbore cases

Agreed - RL33 is a smart choice to try with the .375CT. Might be able to get a tad bit more velocity out of it. It's supposed to be optimized for .338LM, but as far as I can tell it'll fill the case pretty far before you see any pressure signs.

I forgot to ask your shooting platform. I'm shooting 132 of retumbo loaded to lands in DTA HTI, getting 3050 FPS with narrow SD.

What are you getting in your gun with 132.5 Retumbo and with the 144.5 of RL33?

Thanks for sharing!

Update, I got up to 144.5gr with no pressure signs and still not compressed. I did a ladder test and so far it seems to like the heavier charges. I'll mess with it some more and get some velocity's.

What projectile are you using for this load for the RL33? Did you stay put at 144.5gr or push it a bit more?

Any updates to this thread? I'm at 140 RL33 in a new 375 barrel by K&P and I'm wondering what increments to increase from here and where to stop. Was going to go up every 1.5-2.0 grains towards 144. Just don't want to blow pockets.

What projectile are you shotting with a 144g of rl33?

Ramshot / Accurate LRT is another powder option for .375CT, and it's a lot easier to find in stock (for now).

We need some actual load data, why isn't anyone posting it?
So far I have...
32in bartlien barrel 1:7 twist/ 350SMK
Starting laods (first loads I've made, way more to come, stand by) Will also be posting data with berger 379/407
125g RL25 = avg 2,960fps
125g RL33 = avg 2,790fps

Any data from testing the loads and Berger you mentioned from this. Looking at a cheytac build, between shooting the 350 lzrs or 379 Bergers? Any one have experience with these?

Thanks for all the data. So so far the 8133 is your most accurate load? Based off group sizes what was your most accurate? I hear Retumbo mostly commonly for the cheytacs, has that proved to work for you? I ask because powders are hard to get as you know and I found 4lbs of retumbo today but am curious if I should focus my efforts towards getting more RL33 as well?

Just to be clear your saying 50 and 90 thou jump? Those Berger liked to be jumped hah?

Have you had any luck with cutting edge Lzr bullets, I was going to start out testing the 250 lazers since I'll be hunting with them.

Yes 50 and 90thou. I tried single feeding them, didn’t have any increase in accuracy. I’m loading to max magazine capacity. The round in my rifle seems to like the jump. No I don’t have any experience with the CE bullets how ever I think that’s what the factory SBR rounds use I could be wrong though. Some one please correct me on that.

8133 and retumbo are basically the same. The 350SMK like the 8133, the heavier solids seem like like a slower powder. I just scored some N570 I’ll be testing that in the next few months.
