The “Maxablaster” as it is dubbed lives up to its name as it gives out a beam with the intensity of 38-million-candle. He gutted a standard flashlight and added his own custom hardware.

I bet that would blind am intruder or maybe set him a fire.

I guess they could but a few on the space station just incase of total power failure. Then they could shoot SOS down to earth.

If you just need a all out bad ass search light here you go http://www.megaray.com/ its the AI of the search light world.I saw a write up on a megaray 250 and they guy quoted you could be a mile away from someone in pitch black and read a newspaper with it.If you ever want an all out bad ass flash light look up a guy on candlepower forums named milkeyspit and have him build one.ive had him make a few custom lights for me and they are something that have to be seen to fathom how bright they are.i have one of his surefire u2 lights that i have used for a scene light while working on the medic unit.its really as bright as a q-beam,last 1hour on full power and is pocket sized.also check out aelight.com ,they have a very good product for the money.

Yeah i got hit by an astronomy laser out of el paso - got the cops out there. You will be referred to the fbi and will go to jail and people do get caught. Lucky for them i was flyin a 737 and not what i used to be in....wouldnt have needed the cops.

OTOH that would be great for shootin pigs- you might not even need to bring ammo, just go out and pick up your fresh fried bacon!

At 11 mcp and $5000, you're paying 3 times as much for 1/3 the light.
It also looks heavier and clunky.
They could learn a thing or two from the dutch guy.

Re: 38 Million Candle Power Flashlight

tucker candle power numbers are not a real good way to judge light output ,kinda useless really.lumens now that's a different story they are total light output not a peak at the tightest part of the beam.i dont judge any light by some bs candle power number.the maxablaster is only running a osram HBO 103/W2 100 watt hid ran off a 115w ballast.the mega ray 175 even blows that away at 175 watt, the mega ray 250 has a 250 watt hid so do the math .the smaller mega ray 175 brochure states verifying line-of-sight up to 100 km/ 75 miles.does it cost a lot yea but when you are using something like this and have a need for it well it doesnt need to fail.as for price and build like i said the AI of lights.
