Rifle Scopes 4-screw/6-screw Ring Set

Hello to all, my first post on this forum. I did a quick search and was unable to find an answer to my question.

I am preparing to mount a SWFA SS HD 10x42 using a set of Seekins 4/6 Cap Combo rings and a Leupold Mark 4 steel base (which I am bedding to to the receiver). Is the 6-screw ring installed in the front or the back? Does it matter?

My thinking is in the rear but I would appreciate any insight. Thanks!

Good choice on the rings. The 6 screw usually goes on the front.

Thanks! The few photos I've found shows it this way too, so in the front it goes!
