Forty short years ago today I was on a plane to Lackland AFB. I had sold my car, quit my job and spent Thanksgiving weekend banging my 36 y/o boss and now it was time to get going on an adventure. She was awesome and had an incredible rack. In a bit of awkwardness she had an 18 year old son who was about 18 months younger than me. He would have been pissed, but my second job was working at the coolest bar in town. I had presale access to every ticket for every rock concert in the state. To smooth things over, I got him 3 rows back from the stage at Van Halen and made a fair trade for his mom.

I spent the holidays at basic training and there is not a lot to be happy about for Christmas at boot camp. I got to meet and spend the next couple of months with the oddest collection of people on the planet. One side of my bunk had an effeminate white kid from a good family in Nashville, his mom got him a new pair of New Balance running shoes for basic. A pair of New Balance running shoes was like a Rolls Royce, easily costing a week's pay for normal kids. These would be like $300-400 dollar running shoes today. On the other side was an athletic black kid from Cleveland named Sheb. He was even broker than me and while he had played sports and ran track, he had never seen a pair of New Balance shoes in person either. We made the most of the next two months together and tried carefully to avoid the Drill Instructors line of sight, lol.

Back in the olden days, there were no cell phones, texts or emails. You filled out a post card for your parents and got 90 seconds to make a phone call home to let mommy and daddy know you arrived alive. This is harder to do than you think when there are 20 phones and 60 guys and 6 instructors screaming at all of you. Failure was not an option. The bad news was that success was not a fucking option either. My mother was long gone off with some asshole so nothing to call there. My Dad was a pussy hound of the first order and it was "Ladie's night" at his favorite country bar. Unless I could swing dance and was a brunette with big tits, he wasn't available. I called my former boss. Her nearly perfect pair of C's and great laugh were already making me a bit homesick. She was quite surprised and happy to hear from me, we had the briefest of conversations and I gave her an update. She was an honest to God sweetheart and promised to call my Dad tomorrow and let him know I was alive and in BMTS.

Twenty-Seven years later I retired from the military, while it was a miserable way to spend the holidays it was the start of an adventure. It was a different world in the early 1980's. Most Americans loved their country, we had borders around the edges of it. We were actually trying to defeat communism and socialism back then. We only had the two genders back then as well. It was rare to have a dick and be a woman or have big latex tits and be a man in the grocery store. The 198 genders were not invented yet and with very little soy in the food, males were not sniveling gutless bitches like they are today. We had to be able to read and write, we learned actual math and science and our information was based on actual facts. We had to be able to tell time, show up on time and the world did not revolve around our feelings. We did not have to check our "likes" to see if we had friends and the internet was 3600 baud and worked like shit over a phone line. TV signals travelled thru air and you got them for free. MTV was new and played actual music, people got to see bands for the first time without going to a concert. Hell, cable TV was new and I do not think CNN ran 24 hours a day yet. This was so long ago, CNN actually reported news in a fairly honest way.

The highlight of basic was New Year's Day college football. To this day I could care less about football. But our primary instructor was a TSgt with a line number for Master and he had the duty. I was ordered to "procure" extra cleaning supplies and we got to GI the office areas for the holiday. If we did a top notch job we got to watch football and he actually bought a few pizzas so we all got a slice or two or pizza and a cold can of Coke. It was like those beers the convicts drank on the roof in Shawshank Redemption, lol. A couple of weeks later it was a 16-hour bus ride to the next location and nearly a year of extremely complicated tech schools.

Back then were hoping to survive the Ice Age that the climate dip shits of the era were predicting, we only had a year to two to go before glaciers wiped us off the earth. We hadn't had the massive droughts that never showed up next to wipe us out and the imaginary famines of the late 1980's were only a dream. Of course climate dip shits were screaming about oil running out, still claiming it was made by dinosaur rot and other typically stupid climate lies.

I have literally survived an Ice Age, a massive world ending drought, the disappearance of petroleum leading to the collapse of society, the horrors of nuclear winter, massive civilization ending famines of the early 1990's, global warming, global cooling, the end of snow in the northern hemisphere and now the ravages of climate change. We have had "ten years to go before the world ends" about SEVEN times in just the last 40 years.

And it all started with a plane ride to Texas in November of 1982.

Are you my dad? 🤣🤣🤣 jk

Son??? Is that you??? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

And happy birthday by the way. I hope your 40th birthday went as well as mine. The bank teller at my bank saw my birthday on my DL while I was cashing a check and propositioned me. She promised it would be "better than cake" and it seriously was better than cake.

Good stuff there @ lonegunman762x51

48 years ago today I was on the USS Constellation (CVA-64) in the Arabian Sea about 200 miles W of Goa India. We had been the first full blown Carrier Battle Group to enter & exit the Persian Gulf since 1949. Things I remember were , Karachi Pakistan was a shit hole , and nothing made sense culturally speaking. Had to wear Whites , we stuck out like a sore thumb. The first woman (round eye) I saw at the Consulate there was from a town 4 miles from home. 😳. When we were in the Straits of Hormuz the Old Man got on the 1 MC and proclaimed “ This is where the Shits going to hit the fan” in this region of the world. 🤔 He was right !!
We passed a Russian warship and we Damn sure didn’t lower (dip) our 🇺🇸to them as
a sign of respect.
We exited the Gulf in transit to Singapore…..which leads us to today 48 years ago.
Tomorrow would be my 21st BD ….spent my 19th , 20th , 21st BDs at sea.
I saw the Connies Navigator in a passageway and asked him where were we longitude & latitude wise ? He told me where we were generally speaking. About a hour later his Yeoman brought me a map that was plotted and signed by him. I still have the map !! Tomorrow I will hit my 69th BD. Jeeeez , time really does fly by. About to go on a 6.9 mi. run ….seems fitting 🍻

Forty years ago today, I was standing on Tengan Pier on Okinawa watching Merchant Marines load CBUs and hard bombs bound for Korea. About a decade later, I found my name on labels still attached to those same pallets and containers.

42 years ago I married my bride and we are still together. Been through some rough patches (lost our youngest son in 2012).
got up this morning a 0530 and went to HEB and bought her a dozen roses. We're not big on the gifting thing. We're going to hit the gym together later and maybe go out to dinner. Anyhow, supposed to be 78 here in CenTex today so another reason to be happy.

I spent my time in Lackland over Christmas and New Years also. We had Americans being held hostage in Iran, and Reagan was about to be president.

We were living in uncertain times.

40 years ago.....what an interesting summer for me. But it was not my boss it was my moms best friend. We played house one week (entire week) my mom went to Vegas. I was 17. And she was IIRC 37 and amazing, and we did everything that entire week. You name it if it was standard equipment on the human body we used it....great fun, but skinny dipping is not for me, washes all that natural lube away.

those 76 year old C's probably don't look the same anymore. 40 years ago i was just an itch in my dad's boxers.

I was 14, spending summers at the Ranch. When not up North, then I spent most of my time either 'avoiding home' or 'shucking/jiving/ducking/weaving' my father.

I'm glad to hear that so many have MUCH better memories to think about. And reminisce.

A bit like Sean the Nailer, I was 10 years into hiding out from my father. He was offering criminals $50,000 to kill me. I was always trying to be one or two steps ahead of them. They tried 20-25 times, but never succeeded. In 1982 I was not able to get a CCW permit, so mostly made sure I was always around other people, as they usually needed to isolate me complete the job. Did not join the .mil, had my own private cold war for 4 decades. Safer now, he passed away.

I hear you, only mine was my mother. I had scars on my legs till I was in my 30's. I never wore shorts even when life guarding. OP pants (remember those). I started again to think about that women that gave me my "education".....I did a wright up on a motorcycle site I use to visit when I could still really ride. Could be a fun topic here, this place reminds me of that place.

49 years ago (1973) I was 18yo, a senior in high school and registered with the selective service. Sitting on the couch watching Huntly/Brinkley evening news with my dad. They announced that Nixon ended the draft for Vietnam.... Gotta love Tricky Dick as an 18 year old in 1973..

40 years ago, I was already married for 9 years, was in the middle of he worst part of my career, and had a little farm, that was in desperate need of a decent tractor.

Now 51 years ago, plus a few days, my friend, Ralph B and I had jsut arrived home from Vietnam. Our plane, taking us on the first leg of our journey home, was in the very next concourse to the aircraft being hijacked by none other than D. B. Cooper. It was a hell of a day.

Ralph and I did not use our heads but we were so happy we did not care. We had an overnight layover at Dallas’ Love field. We waited from about 10 PM or so till 6 AM to board our flight to MLU. We could have rented a car and been home earlier. But we sat up and entertained ourselves waiting for the flight.

Now on a sadder note, at 8:20AM, November 29, 1964, in St. Francis Hospital in Monroe, Louisiana, my father died. 58 years ago, never forget that morning. He was only 41 years old.

40 years ago today I was chasing that elusive first encounter with the land down under after mastering a good feel of tits and making out, wondering if I was faster than the point guard on the rival high school basketball team and almost half way through the 9th grade.

Pics of the milf ?

You have no shame, lol. I'll check Facebook later and see if she is still alive. Annnnnnd nope. Yes, she is out there on Facebook and is now a great-grandmother, lol. Not a milf as much as she is a 76 year old woman. Lives with her husband in a typical modest Florida house about fifteen miles away from her old house. It only took about 10 minutes to find her, I work hard to delete my information from the evils of Google and it would probably take 15 minutes to find me.

Try this for creepy Matrix type bullshit.......................................her address is my last four.

I did the same thing when going down memory lane about a year or so ago....I felt like a stalker. Found out my "childhood" love was passed on. Oh well, even with her doing things with a 17 yr old boy would have landed her in jail now, or then I have no bad feelings to her, quite the reverse.

I was whittling sticks with my first knife ( a fat Swiss army), playing with Stompers and Lincoln logs. No quite as old as the real old fuckers in here but certainly not feeling like a pup when I flop out of bed.

Damn I didn’t know we had so many older gents on the hide! 40 years ago today I was 2 years old stuck inside one of the worst ice storms had in the area for like, ever. I remember playing with some of my new toys, watching scooby doo. That’s about it.

40 years ago today:

Since its NY Eve I was likely getting drunk and sitting by the fire in the first house I bought. Paid $7400 for it, wasnt much but it was

Home.

40 years ago... right about now... was coming back from the barn having shoveled a shit-ton of shit. Having dinner and getting ready to go out to a High School NYE keg party. And get drunk as a fucking monkey. Which I proceeded to do. Spent the zero hour making out with a Freshman named Megan whose pants I definitely wanted in to! She did not oblige. That night.

Simpler times back then... yes, ice age coming. We were close enough to Plattsburgh Air Force Base that we knew we were gone when the Commies nuked us. Between Plattsburg, Loring and a DEW line base nearby... well, nuclear war was definitely going to happen.

I think gas was $.79 a gallon. Which was real money as the minimum wage was $3.35. But you could get a whole meal at McDonalds for that so...

Anyway, simpler times! Fun times.

40 years ago today I had just turned 14 and a senior named Toni was picking me up in her 280Z to go to a high school New Years Eve drunkfest at a local lake house. She looked smoking hot in a blue sequined spaghetti strap top. The things that girl taught me the next few months made me a man. I thought I was in love but I was just getting schooled by a hell of a teacher.....in the best subject at that age. The aura reputation of a hot senior using me a few months translated into many good things the next 3 years of high school. Thanks Toni......I hope you are well.

40 years ago, I was married to my first wife. If I had followed my first impulse. I would have been getting out for good behavior right about now.

I envy you guys in a lot of ways. You guys grew up in what was likely the prime of this country, maybe even the world. Things are so different now. And it sounds like some of you have truly lived and been free to do so rather than be a tax slave. Bravo gents!
