45 Auto & Longshot powder?

Any of you guys loading .45 Auto using Longshot? Usually I use Unique, but I have 6 or so pounds of Longshot from loading 12 gauge, and would rather use some of it up. Just looking for some first hand experience using it, before I start a load work up. Also, how clean does it burn in handgun cases? Thanks

Using it in 9mm and 45 acp based on Hodgdon website data. In the 9mm it's pretty sharp on recoil compared with similar loads. Use it with the 185gr in 45 acp without complaint.

Didn't notice powder residue in barrel at top end of loads. Didn't really try to load light with it.

Thank you. I'll be using a 230gr. fmj, and will stay at the upper end as it has to run a subgun with a pretty heavy chunk of steel for a bolt.
