I started reloading and with that collecting once fired brass people don't want ,wether cashing in or reloading it.Kimberly .45 is my next gun so I swept it all up today at the range.Around 500 spent shells I collected.I noticed some large primers and some small. What size are the small and what size are the large. Will the federal 100s for my 9mm work in the .45 small primered shells? Thanks

Re: .45 primers small and large

thats funny becasuse last weekend i had picked up some 45 brass and noticed some having a small primer... and was wondering how many people didnt notice and tried to run them threw a progressive press...

Re: .45 primers small and large

I have used reloadable Blaser .45 ACP brass primed with small pistol primers in the past. They shot just fine but I threw them out due to issues with them getting mixed in with my LP primed Remington, Federal, and Win brass.

Stupid small primer 45 brass %$&#@$%!!!!!!

Your primers for 9mm will do fine. I had been putting the small primer 45 into the scrap bucket, but since its becoming so prolific, I have a bag for it now. Ill probably give it to someone when its full. Used to be any piece of 45 brass I could scrounge went into the dirty 45 bin. Now I have to sort!

I have had many of these in my Dillon 550. It just doesn't prime. When you're used to the Dillon, you know how priming should feel. When you come up on one of these, you know it so you stop, pull it out and continue on your way.
