Noticed there wasn't a thread for this cartridge yet.

I just started loading for it and have tried 250gr FTX and 220gr Lehigh Xtreme Defense.

I used H110 and loaded in increments up to Hodgdon posted max for each bullet weight in 460 S&W. Neither showed any sign of over pressure at the Hodgdon max loads.

250gr FTX would not feed from the magazine, I bought 3 mags directly from modesha and would not feed from any, jammed every time. Shot fine, but I had to hand load into the chamber.


250 gr FTX @ 2.300"
41gr h110 (41.5 was actually max listed)
2320fps
25 SD


220 gr Xtreme Defense @ 2.300"
42gr H110
2500 fps
18 SD

There were absolutely zero pressure signs on both at those, in my rifle. I'm going to try to push them a little harder and see what happens. Accuracy for both was pretty good, 2" or less at 100 yards. 16" Satern barrel, cheap trigger.

Anyone have any luck with a 300+ gr bullet? Hard cast or not.

I developed a load last year that I used for deer season in Ohio. 240g XTP Mag over 44.2g H110 out of a 16" 1/20 twist X-caliber barrel. Grouped about 2" at 100 yards and cycled great out of my AR-10. Working on a subsonic load now, with recent success. Heavy bullets through suppressor. Very exited!

From which load? 240’s are about 2550 but the subsonic, well that should be self explanatory

haha yea, I was wanting it for the supers. I had a pretty good idea where your subs were
