Curious if anyone is plying with the 450 Bushmaster. I just picked up a cheep Mossberg for this years gun season in Pa. This thing is fun and a dream to carry all day. However, it has a slow twist 1-24 so reloading will be limited. Factory 250's will put three shots into one hole at 50 but I don't think it will stabilize bullets like the Barns 275. If anyone out there has experience with this round please chime in.

Are you concerned the 250gr bullet is inadequate for PA deer? Or do you want a heavier bullet for increased BC and better trajectory ?

I'm more than confident in it's ability to take down just about anything within range. I just prefer lead free bullets as I use them with great results in other rifles. But given their long-for-weight design I'm afraid they won't stabilize. Thanks for the reply.

subbed, I went with the Ruger american ranch with 1-16, would liked to tried the savage but it is 300 more and 1-24
How far are your typical shots? If they are less than 100 yards it would be hard for me to imagine good reloads not being adequate at that range in terms of accuracy, lethality and function.

100 yds is about the furthest I've seen a deer in most of the area I hunt. Most shots are round 20-50. I know I'm fine with factory but like most everyone on this forum I gotta play. Factory loads are giving me one hole 5 shot groups at 50yds with the red dot. I'm thinking about throwing a can on it nd going subsonic. Thinking about the Lehigh Defense Extreme Penetrator 245's
