I have an urge to make an AR 15 in 450 marlin. Has anybody done this before? and what are the pit falls. Any help will help me get this project going. Thanks. MM

alot of time and money was spent to make the .458 socom , there is a reason why it ended up that size. Dont think sticking with an ar15 platform, that you will be able to get a larger case to work on any budget, and you would need new mags , bolt , even if you go to ar10

You would have to use the 308 size receivers.

Heavy loads in .450 Bushmaster are working...and get very close to the energy output of the Marlin...while still in an AR-15 weight platform.
Just want somethting different? Why not roll with the .450 Bushmaster? Took two deer with it last year, accurate and flawless. Nice to carry around a 7.5lb rifle chambered in this round.
