.458 Socom

Anyone have any suggestions on loading.
I bought some Hornady #4500 .458 300 grain projectiles. Just can’t really find any load data. I’m using h4198. I also got some Hornady 350 grain #4503 projectiles. Also oal if anyone knows. Any advice would be appreciated.

Lil gun (work up slow watch for temp extremes)

Just seat to cannelure if powder will allow you can alway play with oal to fine tune later if needed.
Cci 350 work best for me
No crimp or little with lee fcd
I havent played with #4503

Great. I loaded 41 grains of 4198 with a300 grain ball. That bad boy is shooting lights out. Great home defense gun.

be cautious of load data you find on the internet for the 458 socom. I can speak from experience that the Barnes 300 ttsx bullet requires much less powder than other 300-350 grain projectiles.

there is no need to hot rod the Barnes tipped tsx , according to them it fully expands down to 1100 fps.
