Not a reloading question but I figured you were the guys to ask...
I was wondering what differance there was in the Federal XM193 FMJ 55gr vs. IMIM193C FMJ 55gr?
Is one loaded "hotter" that the other or is there much of a differance? Anything I should know?
I found the IMI for 318.00 per 1,200rd case and the XM for 300.00 per 1,000rd case

Thanks for any info you can give.

Re: 5.56 selection Q's...

I wouldn't expect much of a difference in them. They should be loaded to the same spec, 55 gr and 3165 fps. You may find that your gun likes one better than the other but I don't think either will shoot less than about 1.5 moa. (It won't be the first time I'm wrong if they do.) For general use I would think either one one be acceptable. I've shot the Federal for 100 yard matches but have found tighter grouping ammo, good brass though.

Reloading may show differences in brass volume but if you buy a case of ammo you'll work up a load for that shell.
