Great idea, great job (everyone), and great thread! I was hours grinding and filing my 77/22 bolt knob by hand in order to thread for a badger. Would've definitely tried this one first!
 
Ditto. Had great success on Savage 93r17 and a Howa 1500. Huge difference in bolt throw compared to stock knobs. Will update with How's picture once I get a chance this weekend.

The stuff works pretty good with a chain saw file, im sure you could do flutes afterward. or maybe try to put something in when you form it!
 
Great write-up. I like this a lot. I'm currently using a KRG bolt knob but I would like to use this idea.
