I find it appropriate that Simo Hayha is on that list. If you do any reading about that war you'll see Finland isn't limited to just this one bad ass though. The Soviet Union fucked up when they thought they could take on Finland with their army in the shape it was in.
Also I like the fact that he killed soo many soviets with a rifle of their own design.
When I started reading the list I was hoping I'd see York and Murphy on there. The things that that little Irishman did are beyond astonishing and those few short paragraphs do not begin to cover it. I think the heroism of his actions,and the actions of many soldiers since, have been forgotten or dismissed by far to many people of the younger generations. But then again if you have never been shot at you probably won't fully understand the kind of balls it would take to do the things those men did.
I think far far to many people have forgotten or just don't know of the greatest American military heroes. If you would ask 100 people in my age group who Audie Murphy was, I guarantee you only 5 or 6 of them at the most would even know the name, let alone know what he did. Truly saddening to know that men like him and York have been forgotten by so many.
*edit* It should also be noted that Simo Hayha used iron sights for his role as a sniper rather than a scope. Racking up over 500 confirmed kills (in about 100 days) as a sniper with freakin iron sights is damn impressive.

Glad to see Murphy at the top of that list, doing the things that he did at the size that he was just makes it even more bad ass
