Chicago (AP) Carmax stated they will stop selling to persons under 21, and are voluntarily removing and destroying all vehicles from their inventory with a fuel capacity over 5 gal. Other retailors are expected to follow suit shortly, and software engineers for Google have signed a company wide petition to executives that their software should not be used by or sold to automotive manufacturing companies.

Illinois introduced the VOID (Vehicle Owner IDentification) Card legislation, which has bipartisan support and is expected to be passed with little resistance, that will mandate background checks for all current owners, limiting purchases of vehicles to one a year, and will need to be presented at all fuel retailers prior to pumping.

The ultra right wing automobile rights organization AAA has stated the bill is unconstitutional and is vowing to fight it in court, while the Illinois Governor has stated self powered high horsepower vehicles were never considered by the founders, and are not protected by the constitution.

Remember that guy that stole an M60 tank in the 90's and ran over cars, trees, a motor home and a few buildings before getting high centered on the interstate?

This guy gets an A for effort, it takes balls to do that, but the guy in the tank set the bar for mayhem with a vehicle if you ask me.
