I go there for business quite often- are there any public or private ranges out there that has steel over 500yd? I drive from Dallas TX so anywhere in the middle is fair game.

Lake Charles Gun Club in South LC. Its just a frog hair under an hour from Laffy. It goes out to 600 yrds.

Goodwill LA has a 750 yd range.

Howard prince memorial range. 120 a year or 10$ a day. Very Nice place with pistol and super nice skeet/trap range. And that price gets you everything they offer.
