511 WATCH?

Re: 511 WATCH?

I have one, bal cal runs accurate but some of input data is not minute.

Compass function went not happy on mine, read nothing but 270, quick call to 5.11 and had a new one in 2 days, sent broke back after I received new one, not many big corps would send new one without bad one sent first. Also, the time would not hold accurate either on first watch, I set Ak, Ky and GMT as the 3 times and time #1 did not stay accurate, 2-3 mins off while the other 2 times were very close to GMT every month I checked. Watch #1 was a no-go.

Watch #2 is solid so far but....its rather large and I whacked the bezel on my new watch and now it has a click to it noon - 6 position, works just fine but when rotating the bezel, it has a click to it.

Re: 511 WATCH?

I had 3(!) 511 watches, probably the first shipped to Germany back then. First had a software bug, crashed when I used metric values , second went dead after random time, shaking could cause it but sometimes it happend lying on my desk. The third, and last one I ever will try, lost the sweep hand.... Too much money for such POS.

The calc was nice, but I'd rather have a PDA for such applications.

Re: 511 WATCH?

I have one and have had no problems with it what so ever. The ballistic portion has always been very close in the come ups. With a 100 yard zero it is easy to get on paper at 400 yards. So far it has saved a lot of time and rounds getting on paper at various distances. With the experience i have had with mine I would recommend it.
