Guys quick question....I'm looking at picking up a 597 for general target shooting out to 150-200 yards and perhaps a little hunting now and then.
I noticed they now have a 16" heavy barrel version available and looking for some imput on the good/bad of the 16 barrel compared to say the regular 20 inch barrel. I also realize they have a 20" heavy barrel available as well.
Does anyone have any experience with these rifles? Just wondering if the 16" would be fine for say out to 200 yards if need be on targets or would I be better served to get the 20" barrel? How is the accuracy of each of the barrels or are they pretty much the same?
