Getting my rifle back tomorrow from the smith with my new barrel chamber in 6.5-284 norma. Looking to run the berger 156. What are you guys getting for speeds and do you like them? I'll start running test loads next weekend
Did some load development on my Snowy mountain 6.5-284 today. I went all the way from 54-58gr R26 with lapua brass, 215M’s, 156 Berger’s. I tried .020 & .0300 jump. At 58 grn my velocity in my 24” proof was pushing 3100 and no pressure at all. Accuracy was terrible(like real f-in bad). I’m going back to R23
I've been running 54gr of 26 @ 3035fps and was shooting well but I’m going to back down to 53.5 now that it’s really hot out I started getting a heavy bolt lift and blew a few primers. I guess 26 is a little sensitive

I clicked on this thread because I wanted to see what kind of screaming velocity you were getting with a 6.5 - 284 with a 56 gr bullet. Never mind, carry on
