6.5 buffer length

Hello,
I’m gathering/scavenging/planning my first creedmoor build and before I ask my question I will give some details....
Aero Precision upper and lower
22” barrel XL gas length
JP LMOS
Adjustable gas block

So the question...if I run a carbine length buffer/silent captured spring (Luth Ar carbine stock, because I already own one) will functionality be compromised at all? In other words, is a rifle length buffer recommended?

I almost posted this in the stupid questions section but that seems more focused on shooting than building.

On large frame ar's the bolt carrier is longer so you need a shorter buffer to run in the same sized buffer tube.

So, with a regular carbine extension (tube), you need a large frame specific extra short carbine buffer.

With a rifle length extension, you need a large frame specific short rifle buffer.

With an intermediate length extension (vltor a5), you can run standard ar15 sized carbine buffers.

It is my understanding that jp scs are standard carbine length but can be had with spacers to work in rifle or intermediate length extensions.

If i were you, i would just call jp and ask to be sure.

You will need either JPSCS2-10 or JPSCS2-10H2. These are the large frame specific buffers. The H2 is generally recommended for 6.5 and 6 Creed builds for reliability. The SCS is carbine length with an optional spacer available for rifle length tubes, so either way you have the same buffer travel, just a different tube length.
