I want to get a 6.5 creedmore AR to shoot with my friends .300 Winchester Magnum. But no matter what pattern I choose, the rifle costs $3000+. Am I missing something or is it always going to be this way?

You could always get a DPMS in 6.5CM or 260 for a lot less than that ($1000-$1200), but a lot of people will poo-poo that idea. I have and have had many AR's made by many different manufacturers and the couple of DPMS guns that I have experience with were definite shooters (heavy barreled guns) with the right loads.
Do you get what you pay for? In most cases yes, up to a certain point but more often than not I have seen lower cost AR's shoot very well.
If your main concern is price, the DPMS would be the way to go. While it is possible that you could buy one that wont shoot well, the odds are in your favor that it will. Obviously this depends on what degree of accuracy you are looking for and you are capable of.

I haven't seen a DPMS in either 308, 243 or 6.5 creedmoor at the range that doesn't shoots lights out.

I just built one that cost me about $2,100 not including scope and mounts.
If you buy the stock DPMS you will at a minimum want to add a better trigger group (at least $200) and I haven't seen anywhere lately you can pick up a stock DPMS in 260 or 6.5 CM anyway. Haven't checked in about a month, though, but I would be surprised if they were any easier to come by now. The 6.5 gives you a little more room to load the bullets out longer in the AR, btw.

Give me some good ideas on a trigger for a lot less than $200. And what do you consider acceptable and what would you consider great, nice, etc? Also, I guess it also depends on how many dollars is consisered a "Helluva". I personally prefer to shoot a trigger that is more than acceptable. I spent $195 on mine and it is more than acceptable but still considerably less than the Geisslles you read most people on here raving about- and with good reason because they are great triggers. I personally prefer a single stage however.

Bill Springfield. www.triggerwork.net From $40 to $60...starting with the trigger from your LPK. For a great deal on a 2 stage, both Mr. Springfield and John Holliger (White Oak) work wonders with the RRA match trigger for IIRC $125 or so. I find a Geissele to be about perfect, Chip McCormick a decent 2nd, but I prefer 2 stage. Having had a JP, Timney and POF single stage I found them all to be a only a slight improvement over a Springfield job, and the Springfield trigger maintains the dependability and modularity of stock components.

I used to thumb my nose at DPMS. Man was I ever wrong.
Spend $1200 on a DPMS in 6.5 CM, and another $280 on a Geissle (no I don't know how to spell this, none the less say it) and laugh at all the guys spending 3K on their ultra high end stuff.

Thanks for all the input, my local gun store put a DPMS 6.5cm together for under 1500. I will post more when i get it.

I have right around $3000 into mine including optics it shoots sub MOA no problem and got me 3rd out of 28 shooters at a recent precision rifle competition.

Yes. Varget and Berger 130 gr Hunting VLD's. Also tried some 140 gr Match Kings with H4350. Not quite as good. Both need some more work. I'd like to get just a little more velocity out of the 130 VLDs. I have some 123 match kings and some 140 Amax to try also.
B3dlam- nice looking gun. You did pretty good to build it for that with the Maten set. What are shooting in it?
