Don't know if this has been posted before/yet, but figured I'd post anyways...

Received a Redding 6.5CM body die in the mail last week. While keeping in the good graces of the wife (clearing all my stuff off the kitchen island), I remembered that this had been in one of the packages and I had bought it thinking it might work as a form die of sorts.

Long story, short: It does. Just ran some PRVI virgin brass through it with some Imperial. No problems. Just have to trim and turn.

Figured it nice to have a fall back, if CM brass gets scarce again...

Anyways, at least now someone else knows (if not posted already)...

    Cheers.

Can you expand on this please? Are you forming from 308 brass or something else? Once you have said what you are forming from, can you go through your entire process please? Thanks.

    Yes, from .308 brass.

I just run the .308 brass through the body die; then trim,, the through the neck expander die, then neck turn, the FL size.

I have a creedmoor and have converted lapua 243 to creedmoor brass with great success. had to neck turn.

I tried using once fired fed 308 brass and my Dillon 550b
doesn't seem to have enough adjustment to push the shoulder back. I was temped to buy a single stage press when my cabelas points replenish.

    What equipment are you using?

Nevermind. now that I had read your posts, I had to try another.
I just have a Hornady FL die. I sized with the expander out, then went through the expander to neck turn and then
back to the FL die without the expander. fed brass was tight to chamber and Win brass worked like a charm.

Thanks for giving me the bug.
