Just purchased a beautiful Impact precision action.

In need of a prefit barrel and a barrel wrench.

I scoured a few sites off of a google search for prefits.. saw most that were out of stock.

There a few site sponsors/favorites that have good pre-fits available to order? Also any leads on the IP wrench I'll need?

I'm not planning on competing with the rifle so I was thinking of doing more of an all-around build. Something I could shoot off the bench with but carry around as a field rifle / hunting rifle. It'll likely do 90% range / 10% walk-around.

Thought was maybe a 26'' carbon fiber barrel for weight savings but still get good velocity out of it at 26''? I figure that it'll wear a suppressor for MOST of the shooting I'll be doing. I should ask what kind of impact the suppressor comparably has on heat/stringing vs no suppressor on a medium contour barrel.

I have an AAC SDN6 in 308 that I already have an old brake for. I know it's not a 'precision' suppressor, but I've heard mixed results on whether or not that kind of muzzle brake suppressor negatively affects accuracy. I figure I would at the very least TRY to run it before getting something dedicated.

You cannot do better than an impact precision barrel, so I second the Stuteville suggestion.

You're on the right track. You can achieve almost the same weight with steel as with carbon, but that results in a pencil barrel. Not really a good fit for shooting from a bench.

So I run carbon at 26 inches, except where I will be using a can, and then it's 22 inches. That gives away 75 to 100 fps, but if that's important, I step up to a PRC.

All good choices.
