Guys

I'm working on a 6.5CM project and I need a couple of measurements.

Can someone who has FACTORY AMMO for the 120gr and 140gr Hornady offerings send me their base to ogive measurement please?

Ideally, if someone has 3 rounds of the following that they can spare I'd like to buy them from someone. Nothing's in stock and I also don't want to buy $120 in ammo for 12 rounds (at least not on something this size) or I'd be happy to return them and reimburse for shipping.

120 Amax
129 SST
120 GMX
140 Amax

Again, I'm looking for factory ammo measurements, not reloads.

PM me your shipping information and I will send you 3 each of the Hornady factory 120 AMAX and 140 AMAX.

I don't have the others. If you need the measurements sooner, I can try to measure them for you but my cheepo calipers will not reset to zero with the OAL gauges installed so the numbers will not mean much.

Are you chambering a rifle yourself?

From the article "Reloading and Shooting the 6.5 Creedmoor"

"Current specifications for the
120-gr. A-MAX load are 44.5 grs.
of H4350 powder, a Fed. 210M
primer and 2.720" OAL for 3020
f.p.s. muzzle velocity. For the
140-gr. A-MAX, they are 41.9 grs.
of H4350, a Fed. 210M primer and
2.800" OAL"

Re: 6.5 Creedmoor Shooters: Need help on factory ammo

I will be chambering the rifle for myself or else I'll just call Mark Gordon to do it. I'm doing a little research into the ammo as I'm trying to figure out if I want to make any changes to the reamer based on running it in a bolt action from magazines that have room to run 2.92" OAL.

Thank you for that data.

Balancing Quickload results and fiddling around with case prints gets me close but I'd like to look at some actual factory ammo.

To the guys who've graciously offered me some ammo, I'm very appreciative. The last one I'm in need of is the 129 SST, but that's going to be much less important than the 2 Amax and the GMX loads.
