I have an 18" 6.5 Creed Bartlein that I cut down from 23.5" to make it a handier suppressed hunting rifle. I have had good luck with the 130gr Norma in the old factory Prime loading on deer, so I am looking to work up a load for them for the shorter barrel. My question is do I try Varget or stick with Rl16 that I am using with the 143 gr ELDX load from when the barrel was longer? I am getting 2700 fps with 41.4gr of Rl16, CCI450, and Peterson brass. I will be using the same brass for my 130 gr loads.
Also, I know the 130 Norma is a match bullet, but it gives me good expansion and more consistant penetration than the 143 ELDX does. This doesn't need to turn into another don't use a match bullet for hunting thread.
Thanks
