I have 6.5 creedmoor dies. Redding compete ton type 's bushing 3 die set. I just received a new 6.5 Bartlien #14 contour bbl. The gunsmith said I can use the 6.5 creedmoor dies BUT, I called Redding and they said they may work but not ideal. I called WhI'd den gun works and they said it wouldn't size the base. Anybody have a correct as newer to this?

Addressed this in the last post but you want your dies to match your brass. Otherwise youre just going to fuck something up.

Won't work at all, 6.5x47 is a shorter case than the Creed so it wont fully reach the neck or set back the shoulder of the case.

Surprised anyone suggested that may work. As Sheldon said, the 47 is shorter, by about .080”. Not even close.
Was he thinking/suggesting the seating die would work for both?
I have no idea if they do, but that would seem to be the only potential cross-pollination for that die set and those cartridges, in my mind.

I was very concerned about that which is why I asked. Both. REDDING AND Widen said that too. So, I guess if I want it done right then a will get a 3 die set. I have been using the Redding comp type s. What are the top one or two? IYHO.

I like the Redding type s two die set that includes the micrometer seater and I like forster a sizer and micro seater two die set. Three dies is just extra work.
Do the Hornady match. Uses the same bushings, better internal finish, and cost a third of the redding set.
Perhaps there was a miscommunication. You could use a 6.5x47 die to size the top portion of a 6.5 Creed case (except the base) but you couldn't do it the other way around.
