6.5 Creedmoor vs 260 Rem in a DPMS Platform

Initially I read alot about the Creedmoor cartridge. It got me interested in an semi platform. I know 260 and 6.5 creedmoor are very similar, but is there anything that really differentiates either?

The creedmoor has a shorter case, so when loaded to magazine length, the longer match bullets are more optimally situated.

I have heard that argument but I have also read that its a negligible difference and that the 260 and creedmoor will both have the base of a long bullet well into the case.

I don't have the technical details, but it seems like a lot of the info out there is circumstantial. Creedmoor has a company "selling" the idea while remington has been very passive on pushing the 260.
