Did some paper punching at 100 yards today. Shot from the prone with bi-pod and no rear rest. I was wondering what sort of accuracy is reasonable from this position. I had 2, 3 round groups fit inside a quarter and a couple groups slightly larger then a quarter, when I was focusing on grouping. I was using Nosler ballistic tips 123 gr.

Well, a quarter is basically almost an inch, so you are saying that you shot sub MOA, which in any position, or rifle, or caliber is "the goal" so to speak. Basically, sub MOA is what people look at in determining how well a rifle shoots. The smaller the groups, the better, obviously.

I have shot right at a hundred rounds through the barrel. What I was really wondering is how much of a variation should there be from say bench rest accuracy to prone bi-pod shooting due to less support etc. It will put two rounds almost through the same hole then the 3rd and 4th want to wonder off. Curious as to if it is me losing my stable position or something else.

Well, the wandering is probaly more to do with barrel heating up slightly. How long are you taking between shots? I mean, sure, it can be shooter error as well, but once a barrel, especially if not of teh Varmint/heavy variant, heats up, can lose some accuracy.
Even with my heavy barrel Rem 700...first 3-5 shots, as quick as I can chamber a round will print just a small hole, but if I stretch it out to 10 shot groups, which I do pretty regular, the hole gets bigger and bigger. Will group @ 3/8" for 3-5 shots, then by the time I have 10 shots down teh pipe, has opened up to a 1"+
