6.5 Grendel build finished! (kind of)

Finished my 6.5 build yesterday! I threaded, chambered, and contoured the barrel from a stainless Green Mountain blank. Duracoated the upper and lower from Palmetto State. All that's left is to make a muzzle brake and coat the barrel. So far I'm extremely happy with it.

The hole at the very very top is from a different day. So far it looks capable of 1/2 moa with factory Hornady loads

the upper and lower were done with the duracoat magpul fde. it doesnt really match but i kind of like the offset. I cant decide if i want to finish the barrel with black or fde

I think it looks cool. The stock and grip are dark earth?

Bead blast the barrel might be an option.

Nice setup... I had one and went cheap on the barrel and didn't get the results I wanted. Ended up selling it. It is a neat caliber with lots of potential! What optic is that? It's very good looking on a gun that size without getting stupid big. The finish looks great.

Are you getting good feeling results with the PMAGs?

DId you dura coat it yourself? How hard was it? I have an Aero Precision lower that has a shitty finish that i would like to redo...

FCB- the optic is a Leupold VX-r patrol 3x9. About as good a scope as you can get for the price. pmags work as long as you dont load too many. i think 10 is about the max. I did the duracoat myself but im not happy with the results. I should have gone with the bake on instead of air cure i think.

mdesign- as it sits its a 22.5 inch barrel. I'll end up cutting it down to 22 even and threading for a brake eventually

22 inch Green Mountain barrel 1/9 twist.
palmetto upper/lower
prs stock and miad grip
geissle dmr trigger
troy 13.5 mrf free float
american defense mount
leupold vx-r patrol 3x9
and harris bipod

the barrel blank was from green mountain barrels, bolt from alexander arms, upper and lower from palmetto, optic from a local shop and everything else from brownells
