6.5 grendel issue

Hello
I have 12.5 in barrel from Lilja with a matching bolt. Shooting Hornady 123 gr sst factory ammo. Any idea what happened? Too much gas or do I need a stiffer spring? I am thinking it ejected too early.

Looks like it got pushed into something. Either it didn’t clear the port and the bolt ran it back into the forward edge, or it got turned around 180 in the port and the bolt got ahold of it in its way past. Take a look at the bolt and inside of the port and see if you can see a little brass mark that seems out of place. I’m assuming it didn’t jam on that round since you didn’t mention it. What does your normal brass ejection pattern look like? Brass all going to same place or kicking out in random directions? How far from the gun?

This was the first shot from this bolt. I found the brass at 3 o’clock and I didn’t fire a second round. I will shot more and see what happens.
