Re: 6.5 Grendel Loads

6.5 grendel forums has a ton of info but factory 123 amax has been 1/2 to 3/4 in my gun(same barrel) also have had good luck with 123 smk and wc846(close to blc2) at 28.6 grains. loaded to 2.25 oal. with that combo i shot a .3 inch group.

Re: 6.5 Grendel Loads

Go to the Snipers Hide search box to the right of the screen. I posted a 100+ loads on a couple threads.

A couple loads that come to mind are:

120gr. SMK/ 123gr. AMAX
30.5gr. AA2520
CCI #450 Primer
Lapua/ AA Brass

120gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip
31.4gr. BL-C(2)
CCI #450 Primer
Lapua/AA Brass

123gr. Lapua Scenar
29.5gr. WIN748
CCI #450
Lapua/ AA Brass

Stick to "ball" powders like TAC, AA2520, BL-C(2), WIN748, etc.

Im about to load up some Hornady LeveRevolution powder and 120gr. SMK'S to the do a test. There is no 6.5 Grendel load data for this powder but it falls perfectly on the burn rate chart (also a "ball"powder) for the grendel.

I will post my results when im done.

You said you have a 1-9 twist. I would also try the lighter bullets also if i were you, such as 100gr. Nosler BT with TAC, 107 gr. Smk with TAC -loads VV N-133 also works good with the 107. There are the 100 and 108gr. Lapua Scenars too.

Alot of good bullets to choose from!

Work up to all loads posted!

If you need anymore info pm me.

I shoot a Sabre Defense 18" with 1-7.5 twist. Mine doesnt shoot the the light bullets very well.

For hunting bullets there is the 95gr. V-MAX, 100gr. NBT, 120gr. NBT, 129gr. SST and some others i cant think of. Barnes makes a 120gr TSX/TTSX bullet also.

You should have no problem finding an accurate load with one of the 3 I listed above. All three shoot sub-moa IN MY RIFLE.

I tried Varget, H-4895 and alot of popular "stick" powders and NONE of them worked. I did have some luck with the Vihta Vuori powders with the 107gr. SMk's and 108gr. Lapua Scenars. They did not work good with the 120gr bullets at all for me tho.

Hope this helps.
