The COL for the 6.5 PRC is 2.96 and max mag length for nucleus short action is 2.94. Guess I'll have to get the long action. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

When i started my 7 saum with SA using 180hyb..i always wanted that 40-60thousand more on OAL where bullet tail is proper align with shoulder junction..but magazine interernal oal wont allow me..So, decided to send barrel action cut off barrel breech and re chambered it for big horn LA..
Yes plenty roon in magazine now but that extra 1/2 inch or more internal Mag OAL made me say.."what a waste" i should've done 7 rem 7 lrm etc (lol)
If im going to do any of WSM SAUM or PRC ever again i would definitely use defiance XM..this action is between short and long action
With max OAL 3.2"

I'm running a 6.5 SAUM in a short action Mausingfield (2.94" spec also on the ARC website) and haven't had any issues. Granted, I reload.

Check with your GS for throating info. You can set the throat, and likewise COAL of the rounds where ever you want if your reload. If you're buying factory ammo things may be a little different.
