6.5 x 280 Ackley Improved load experience

I’m building a 6.5x 280 AI because I have a Stiller Action, 6.5mm Hardy Carbon Fiber barrel and lots of 280 AI brass. Can anyone tell me about this round and what powder to use. I’m using Berger 140 VLD bullets for now

I run a straight 280AI with 180gr Berger VLDs - F-open gun with a 32" Bartlein barrel. H4350 is the most accurate powder for my rifle. It's averaging about 2815fps and is capable of higher velocities with different powders, but again, H4350 trumps the others I have tried for accuracy. I'd try H4350 initially, I'm running 52.10gr and it's not a hot load, but smack bang in the middle of a node - try 51.5 - 53.5gr of H4350 and see how you go. If you want a slower powder, H4831sc but I reckon RL23 would be a bettr option - I'm going to give this powder a try shortly.

Not AI but I shoot 51.5gr H4831 142gr SMK @2850 MV no problem. Primer CCI match. 1:8 twist.
