6.5CM and 6.5PRC. Different seating die?

I have an RCBS die set with the micrometer seating die for my 6.5 CM. I just bought a rifle in 6.5 PRC and am gathering the equipment I need to reload. As the title suggests, I don't know if I can use the same seating die. I'd love not to have to buy a full set if I can avoid it.

I realize this is likely a dumb question. Go easy on me, I'm relatively new to reloading...

It depends on the type of seater die.

If it is of the 'competition' type, where there is a sliding sleeve inside of the die that mimics a chamber in order to keep the case/bullet aligned, then no, because of the differences in case of the CM and PRC.

If there is no sliding sleeve on the die, it may work because the seating operation will only be supported in the die at the neck, which should be about the same diameter (brass and sizing dependent, but not enough to make too much a difference). The question is, will the die take the larger body of the PRC.
