I've got an older AW that I'm looking to rebarrel to 6.5x47. I've read all the stories about bushed bolts as a solution to cratered/pierced primers but I'd rather not go that route. Seems to me I read something previously about using cci small rifle mag primers to alleviate this problem.

Anyone have some first hand experience with this?

I use CCI450Ms on an old Coopermatch and they crater badly. Bad enough that I don't shoot the rifle much anymore as parts are NLA. Unless you're willing to bush, I'd look for a large rifle primered case.
