Gunsmithing 6.5X284 Norma to 6.5X47 Lapua

Quick question, I have an extra barrel laying around for my 6.5X284 norma, and was wondering if i can rechamber it to 6.5X47 Lapua. I had them leave extra shank for a set back. Shank has 3" from the recoil lug cut left.

It is a 28" barrel 1-9 twist. IS it worth it or should I just look at selling it and buy a new barrel.

You will have to cut about 2 inches off the chamber to get into enough steel to downsize to the 6.5x47.

You'd have to cut off the entire chamber area and start over as the 6.5x284 is .4748" at the neck / shoulder juncture point and the 6.5x47L is .4578"
