6.5X284 Norma with 140g Berger VLD

I see that the Berger website recommends a 1-8 twist for this bullet. Has anyone shot a 1-8.5 twist with this bullet in the 6.5X284 Norma? I have a Bartlein 1-8.5 twist barrel that I'm thinking about getting installed.

Any opinions on whether or not it will stabilize the 140g VLD.

very interested in this thread. having RWS build me a 6.5 284 very soon and I was planning on running this exact bullet.

I'm seeing +P+ pressures at 51.5 grains of H 4831 SC velocity 2990 in a 28 inch Rock 1 in 8.5 melonited... FYI

Not the same case, but I have 2 6.5 Creedmoor's, #1 with a Brux 1-8.5" and #2 with an Obermeyer 1-8.4", and they will both shoot the 140 VLD extremely well. To 600 yards at least......

I am running them around 2825 fps FWIW.
