6.5X47 140 ELDM issues, help please

I am having trouble getting the 140ELDM to shoot in my 6.5x47. Here are the specs and info on the rifle.
Bighorn TL3 action
Benchmark 26" mtu barrel
Chamber fit and chambered by benchmark barrels.
Distance to lands = 2.097"
Load: 140ELDM .015 off lands, 39.9 gr of H4350 @ 2785 fps

This load is in the high node before any pressure signs. Gun will shoot .5" with some groups smaller but most around that size. My other rifle chambered in this case with 130 eldm shoots bug holes. Seems like the bullet is seats way down in the case (base of bullet on the 140's sits about half way down the shoulder). Should I just try bergers or have others had problems with this bullet?

When you say .5” group how many shots is that? I would try a 123 Lapua scenar.

Try jumping them more .030 .040 and see if they shoot better...I know 3 guys here jumping them .040 in creedmoors that shoot small groups.

My 47 liked them .010 off with varget and fed205M primers

5 shots. I shoot prs and my shooting is on point for groups. I have other rifles that shoot in the .2's easy. I'm looking for 130 or 140 class bullets for how they do in the wind.

I'm running cci 450 I forgot to mention. I could try them farther off. I have noticed little difference in accuracy at different depths. Also it has good sd's of about 6.5

Padom is the handloading King around here whatever he says listen and learn. RL 16 would be a better option than RL26.

If your gun doesn't like them, move along. You wont see many here complaining about 1/2 moa performance.

Yes it's a steel gun. I know I'm picking it apart, but I have got 130's to shoot in the .2's easy. I'm just trying to get a feel for people's expirence with 140's being finaky in the x47. I have always shot 130's.

Yeah, I have a buddy who was using 26 with 140's in x47 getting 2880 fps and good accuracy. They were Berger 140 hybrids though.

we start a match this morning at 59deg ended at 89deg my drops were the same from start to finish...also as mentioned above get/try some 123g lapuas...ill never shoot anything but the 123s now outta my 47.

Reloading depot has tons of loads...all are pretty similar

If the 130s shoot so well on the other gun why haven't you tried them in this one?

If the 130s shoot so well on the other gun why haven't you tried them in this one?

I'm going to next. I just have a bunch of 140's and was hoping to get them to shoot

130g Berger hybrids .020 off the lands out of a 24” hawk hill

Varget Fed205M
37.5g 2833
39.1g 2947

Settled on 38.9g varget at 2950 to 2962 after 200 rounds I dropped to 38.7g

130g TMKs .020 off varget fed205M 24” hawkhill

37.9g 2905
38.5g 2955

Ended up 38.5g at .030 off

These were warm not hot in my rifle so work up.

I’m shooting 123g lapuas .010 off now out of a 26” hawkhill at 3020fps with 38.5g varget...try the varget it will shoot.

I shoot steel matches and have shot both 140 hybrids and 140 eld-m. Varget shoots both great and for the price I will switch to eld-ms. Hitting steel in a match at 1135, I don’t see any Reason to spend more for the Bergen’s.
