Anybody know what size to use for 6.5x47L? There is one that says .308 family but it says it has a 20° shoulder angle. Then there are 2 that say they have a 30° shoulder, one says "17 fireball, 22/6mm PPC and BR, 204 ruger". The other says "7mm and 30 br,RUM's up to .338". Neither one seems right to me but something surely has to work.

It goes by shoulder angle. I just bought one for 6.5 Creedmoor and used the one with 30-degree shoulder, "7mm and 30 br,RUM's up to .338". Works perfect. What is the shoulder angle of the 6.5x47? Hope this helps some.

The reference point(datum) is just that, there is no need for a tool used to measure fired brass headspace to match the shoulder angle of the case being measured, in the case of 6.5x47 the datum is .375, the Hornady insert measures at the datum point only.

I use the Hornady tool and the Sinclair tool bump gauges. After using both extensively, I prefer the the repeatability of the Hornady tool. The Sinclair works, but it is not as repeatable as the Hornady.
