6 mm Creedmore 16.5" barrel

I'll admit my ignorance in advance.. I've been reading posts here and elsewhere endlessly but am not sure how to determine which powders are faster burning. I just got my dies and am getting close to the handloading stage, I have many various powders and am assuming that with a short barrel faster burning powder would be best. I haven't bought a chronograph yet, that will be my next purchase. I have studied Doc's post reloading 101 and found tremendous amount of info in that one post.

I would probably try Varget, RL 16 and see what they do with a 16” barrel you are not going to get 3000. But a handy killing stick it will be

In relation to other powders, how do you determine load weights.? Do you have to buy all the different books? Shooting 6mm creed load data on Varget is rare for that cartridge

Most will be available online, Hodgdon lists Varget for every bullet up to 100gr and all other suitable powders ofxourse.
