I am mounting a Leupold Mk 4 50mm scope on my Rem. 700 .308

I have decided to go with the Seekins rings. They currently have the 4 screw models, however I saw that they are releasing a 6 screw set soon.

My question is; is it worth the wait for the 6 screw set? Or is that over kill for my set-up?

I am guessing the second, but wanted to make sure.

Re: 6 screw vs. 4 screw Rings

On a .50BMG I would take the 6 screw route maybe even on a .338 Lapua but absolutely not necessary on a .308.

Yea, the cool factor is a bonus. But I am not sure it is worth the extra money

Re: 6 screw vs. 4 screw Rings

The four hole Seekins are longer than most other four hole rings, that gives more clamping force, and there aluminum so they don't weigh more, there my perferred rings.

got the 4 screw seekins fired all last year on my 308 no problems personally think 6 screw is overkill
