6 x 47 lapua in a 18" barrel

Wondering if anyone is running a 6x47 lapua with a short barrel? I am thinking of building one with a 18" barrel to run a suppressor on for a hunting rifle.

Probably looking at 105's in the 2700- 2750 fps range if I were to guess.

I had a 20" 243 that was just over 2700/105's with a medium load.

I run a 20" 6.5x47
works fine to 1k, supersonic out to 1400yds

Wow, well this makes me feel better about running a 22" barrel with a can on my 260 build. I know it's a different round, but it's pretty damn similar.

I just cant sacrifice the speed and cut a barrel down. If im gonna run a can i just consider the extra length part of running a can IMHO. Then you get the best of both and just learn to manage the length

Working on a 18" 6.5x47 right now. Supposed to have the barrel on Wednesday.
