New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Hey guys this is my first time loading a 6mm. Need some load advice for forming a bra. I’m using Lapua brass, cci small rifle, and I have vv n135 for powder shooting a Berger 105 hybrid.
Use your normal load development process…my load didn’t change at all with H4895/105s between virgin 6BR Lapua brass and fire formed. Both shot/shoot sub 1/2”.
Point being, do your normal process and pretend it’s not changing shape in the first firing.
I’m 30gns of H4895/105 hybrids/BR4. .015-.020 off the lands.

Quickload suggests that around 29gr of N135 with a 105 Hybrid would be about right for fire forming. It would match up in pressure to the typical fire forming load such as 29.8 Varget. Expected velocity is around 2780 fps with a 26" barrel.
Once fireformed, you could probably run around 30gr or maybe 30.5 of N135 up to about 2850fps. As mentioned previously the powder is a bit on the fast side for burn rate.
My preference is for H4895, I run anywhere between 29.6 and 30.4gr with a 105 depending on the barrel, usually 2860-2880 fps.
