Range Report 6mm/22-250

kmose73; I've been shooting 6/250/40 for about 6 years. Have 2 now---a 8 tw and a 10tw. Mine are 22-250 necked up to 6mm then fireformed to 40* Ackley. Built my first (8tw) for a long-range (1000 yd) prairie dog rifle. Really like the cartridge, but now would go with the 6XC. Talked with David Tubb, compared, essentially same cartridge. 6/250/40 has a hair more capacity, XC has a hair less shoulder angle, should feed better. Hope this helps.

How does that differ from a .243?

From what I'm hearing it's a much more efficient cartridge. Able to push 105gr hybrids to 2900 with a lot less powder and good inherent accuracy. That's what I've been told, whether that is true is yet to be seen.
