I'm looking for some opinions here. I don't have any experience with the 6mm Creedmoor but I think I have a problem with my new barrel.
I just installed a new 6mm Creedmoor prefit barrel on my Tikka T3. I've started working up handloads for this rifle and I've found that the overall cartridge length for the 105gr Nosler RDF bullets is 2.822 to the rifling. I measured this with a Hornady OAL gauge. That seems way too long to me. Is there something wrong with the chamber in this barrel? Doesn't seem like there is enough of the bullet inside the case neck, especially for a cartridge that is supposed to burn barrels out. I don't know how I'm going to be able to chase the lands on this one. I sent an email to the manufacturer a few days ago explaining my concerns but haven't received a response yet.
FWIW, the loads I worked up at 2.800 OAL shoot great.
Thanks.
