I'm having a hell of a time finding a good load for my 6CM using H4350 and 115 DTAC. Have tried various loads getting velocities from 2950 to 3050, but nothing that shoots really well. Have also tried various seating depths. Best I'm getting is about 1 MOA at 300 yards.

Anyone else have trouble getting the Dtacs to shoot? Alternatives?

I freaking love the dtacs. I’m using rl 16 in mine, and jumping 20 thou. 7.5 twist Bartlein.

I had an 8 twist xcaliber barrel that wouldn’t stabilize them(keyholes) I measured the twist a whole bunch of times, and confirmed it was an 8. That barrel just didn’t like them. I have had two other 8 twists that shot them fine.

Not that this is necessarily helpful for your situation, but I've got a buddy who is brand brand new to precision rifle and wanted help setting up his first comp gun, a second hand 6 Creed with 25" Benchmark barrel. We didn't go through the motions of testing/working up a load just picked a middle of the road conservative charge weight and I sent him off to zero the rifle. After he zeroed it I shot it the other day to chrono and darned if it doesn't shoot 1/4 MOA. Stupid thing hammers on a totally randomly selected load. 40.0gr of H4350, about 15 off the lands, 2901 fps, once fired Hornady brass, and Fed 210M primers. Go figure.

That’s kinda what I found with mine. My charge weight is a little less(peterson brass), but my velocity is almost exactly 2900. Creampuff load, but dang is it effortlessly accurate.

Yes it was a pain in the ass load also
Used RL16 Lapua brass CCI450's 7.5 tw
Could get 2-3 in one hole and the next would ruin the group
It still would shoot sub .5 with the flier, but never could get a consistent load
Gave up and went with the 107's
Was in the 3000-3100 range, maybe they like slower.

2900 was the sweet spot on both of my 6creeds with dtacs (1/8 twist) there is a higher node also on mine but speed kills as they say (kills the barrel life at least lol).

41.2 rl16
Hornady brass
30 thou from
Lands
3080 FPS.

Has shot well for me but I moved to dtacs for consistency reasons. The dtacs would occasionally have a bullet i don’t know where it went

Anyone having trouble with dtacs, dont be afraid to jump them if needed. I found a wide velocity node around 3000 fps , single digit ES, but couldnt get them to group consistently. Loaded up 5 or 6 sets going .003 deeper each time and watched the groups shrink down to one hole. Dont get hung up on ”.020 off“
