Hey, Guys. I'm looking at having a a 6 Creed built sometime soon and was all set to start sourcing some H4350 to burn when I found 6 lbs of N165 on the shelf left over from some .338 LM loading. H4350 being harder than hell to find and no one jumping up and down to take this N165 off my hands, I thought I would see if any body has used it, or had an idea if it would work.

Quickload does not have the 6 Creed loaded nor the 105 Berger Hybrid that I would like to use, or I could have answered this question myself. I see on the interwebs that N165 is a viable .243 Win. powder, so not sure why it wouldn't work in the 6 CM.

Thanks in advance,

-Shaky

Tropic/arctic loads are common, N165 is Slow, right where you want to be in a .243, I've also found, it is CLEEEEEAAAAN, and once you find your loads (hot/cold WX), they are very tight, and almost zero change from lot to lot. Two problems with the VV powders, hard to find, and they cost a little more. With that said, they sure know how to make smokeless power/bullets and rifles in Finland!

Other option is to buy some 6 Creedmoor loaded with H4350 and 105 Berger Hybrid.

Pawprint, what kinda velocities would one get from a 28" tube shooting the 105s?
Winter time in West Tennessee, 26in tube, 3050fps, with scenars, naked, very flat and tight shooter. I just got a 6.5CM, 165 will be to slow (142SMKs-as I have lots on hand), I'm going with 4350 for load development. I'll give RL-17 a try, but it is one of the few powders I don't have, I'll pick some up when the madness is over. But good old 4350 has worked well for some many years, in so many rounds, that is where I'll start.

FCS: I have found 4350 to be a touch fast for the 6mm CM, same, same for the 243Win. I've always gotten better vel./case fill etc with the slower powders-much slower, and if you have a long tube the slower burn rates are the berries.

I've played with most of the powders in 243 / 243 AI and H4350 has been hard to beat for LR performance. Paper doesn't lie (F-class scores) and in my experience with 243 / 243 AI and 105 / 107 gr bullets I didn't find slower burn rate powders to be all that advantageous. 115s maybe but with 105s I'll stick with H4350.

I get 3200 with 42.8 grains 4350 and the 105 hybrid, 42.2 gets me 3145 in a 26" bartlein. 42.8 is absolute MAX and may be a pressure problem in rifles with tight bores. Accuracy is Stupid Small!!!

The 6 Creed's papa speaks... I plan to listen and run 4350 with 105 hybrids in my 6 Creed (it'll be finished any day now).

The 6mm Creed is gaining so much popularity, every match I go to there are more and more. All 10 shooters on Team GAP are shooting them now. It really is an Awesome caliber !!!

Yes were all running Berger 105 Hybrids. The 105 Hornady Amps are Nasty Accurate on paper and dont give up too much for LR.
