Not sure I can answer your question correctly, but I seem to need to clean every 6mm I have shot(many) way more than when I shot 6.5mm exclusively. I am not wise enough to say why.
BUT, I think powder selection plays the biggest part of it. Some powders foul the beginning of the barrel, some the muzzle end.
I have shot a 6 comp match with IMR 7977 and could go 400 rds between cleaning. A 6x47 with IMR 4451 and 300-350 normal.
Today I am shooting a lot of BR variants with H4895, Varget, and RL 16 and getting 250 rds between a cleaning would be a miracle. At the same time though, being as though I have 5 of them, it takes 2 months to get 200 rds down a barrel, so not a fair comparison. I think the longer you let carbon build up in a barrel, the harder it gets.
