I have a load that I want to shoot using H4350, but I only have two pounds of powder.

I have a couple pounds of R15 on hand that won't be used for anything else. Does anyone have a safe, moderate load for me to use to fireform. I'll be doing it at 100 yards so speed isn't all that important. Just want something to fireform with.

I'll be shooting a 75gr vmax to fireform.

Re: 6x47 fireforming load

im doing some fire forming but im using 115 and vv 560 . seems like your powder is pretty fast burning , but you should be able to make it work . check a burn rate chart to help find a safe starting point

Re: 6x47 fireforming load

I suppose everyone's version of a 6x47 might be differnt; are you talking teh 6x47 Lapua or teh 6x47 swiss?

My 6x47 Lapua needed no fireforming. I loaded it up and shot it for groups and found two true hammer loads one 100-1100 fps fater than the other.

Re: 6x47 fireforming load

I simply worked my load up using virgin brass, with the bullet I wanted to shoot, expecting to gain some fps as the bbl broke in. While doing so I accumulated some good data to come back and verify with formed brass. No problems, the same loads that shot lights out as virgin brass shot lights out as 1x fired brass.
