Anyone have experience with a 7×47L? Specifically in regards to reamers, smith's and dies? Always been a big fan of 7mms, and have a big pile of 6.5L brass.

for PRS or general target shooting? it's gonna be slow with 162/168s

if you're gonna shoot 130-150 class hunting it's probably not too shabby in a handy little 18-22" gun

if you want a 7 get a SAW

that 6.5x47 brass is probably better suited to a 25x47 if you're gonna mess with it

General paper punching and steel ringing from 100-700. Have a 7 SS for hunting and longer ranges. Just thought the 7 lapua may squeeze out some extra barrel life over the 6.5. odds are costs would be offset by custom dies, but figured it's worth an ask

You'll get more barrel life. But its gonna be sloowwwww.

I'd sell the brass. Do a 6.5. Or if you wanna play do the 25 which will have good performance from the smaller x47 case

I knew a guy doing one with the 180gr Berger Hybrid. He was using some fast powder. Never made sense to me and I'm not sure it was ever an impressive ballistic combo. For your application, maybe that 150gr Berger "Classic Hunter" would be a good all around combo - easy to hit steel out to 700 and you could hunt with it too.

And I like the 25x47L recommendation above.
