Has anyone shot the 175 gr SMK's in 7-08? If so, what were your findings and what powder? I have ordered some of these to try but not sure what to expect. I'm currently using PP 2000 MR under 162gr Amax's. Thanks in advance
Makes no difference in velocity if I use 41gr Varget or 45gr H4350. Varget seems to shoot a little tighter. I should mention 2700 isn't a "max" load. I could get away with 2730 for sure, and probably 2750...but it shoots great at 2700 and it's nice not pushing it at all.
I found them at a sporting goods store not too far from here but far enough to have to order them. I also have been using H4350. When my rifle gets back to me, I will run a shoot off with 200MR, H4350 and Varget. May try RL17 also. The gun has only about 140rds thru it now. The barrel is a 24" Kreiger 1-9 twist
